HS Academy Services Inc., currently in the final stages of obtaining Transport Canada certification, is seeking qualified freelance Maritime Instructors to collaborate remotely on the development and delivery of specialized training courses for inland vessels, near coastal voyages (NCV), and unconventional operations.
As a newly launched startup, this opportunity is currently voluntary/freelance and unpaid — but it offers full flexibility, remote engagement, and the potential for future paid roles or even partnership with our growing organization.

The selected instructor must be qualified to teach maritime courses in accordance with Transport Canada’s regulations and criteria. This includes:
Holding valid certificates of competency, a TFT (Training for Trainers) certificate, and preferably a recognized teaching diploma
Ability to align all course content and instruction with the relevant Transport Canada TP publications
Understanding of the instructor and course approval process, and experience preparing material that meets Transport Canada’s delivery, assessment, and compliance standards
Ensuring that the course delivery is adequate and covers all essential elements of the approved syllabus under Transport Canada guidelines
Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Required:
Valid Transport Canada certificates, including:
Maritime certificate relevant to inland and/or NCV operations
TFT (Training for Trainers) certification (mandatory)
Experience teaching or serving aboard inland, NCV, or unconventional vessels
Strong familiarity with Transport Canada regulations, navigation procedures, and safety standards
Ability to create or adapt course content to meet industry and regulatory standards
Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Fluency in Persian (Farsi) (spoken and reading comprehension)
Must be currently residing in Canada
Ability and willingness to dedicate time and effort in a start-up environment, including flexibility, teamwork, and self-motivation
Preferred:
Prior experience as a maritime instructor or trainer
Experience with online or hybrid teaching environments
Familiarity with STCW convention and IMO standards
Additional languages (e.g., French) considered an asset
